A Tenant is a person who pays rent to live in a house, apartment or a condominium. The rights of the tenant and the landlord are better explained in the Florida Statutes at Part II, Chapter 83, the Florida Residential Landlord Tenant Act.

If the landlord has taken a security deposit from the tenant, he is supposed to return the amount within 15 days from the time the tenant has left the premises and vacated the rented flat or apartment. The tenant is also supposed to give a written notice if he wishes to terminate the lease or stop renting the apartment for any reason and the terms must be clearly mentioned while preparing the lease agreement.
